What classes do you need to take in high school ?

Often times, both students and parents ask: What should a kid be taking in high school to be college ready? Well, the answer differs for each students. However, there are some minimum basic standards that all families and students should strive for to be college eligible. Many people break them down in various ways, and every state is different. Nonetheless, I think the standard should be set high for every child. Therefore, use the following below as a guide line. You can adjust it according to you childs needs and or academic level. But remember this, if there is no college prep standard or bench mark set early i.e. by 8th grade or before entering 9th grade, it may hinder their ability to be competitive for certain colleges and universities. Parents set standards. Push yourself and your child toward excellence. Reach for the Moon and you just might land on a star!
